Our newest men's collection, Mauro Ottaviani x found., embraces that idea through one of the world's most luxurious natural fibers: cashmere.

Made in Italy using renewed Loro Piana cashmere, the collection brings together exceptional materials, Italian craftsmanship and a more thoughtful approach to luxury.

What does “renewed” cashmere mean?

Cashmere is treasured for its incredible softness, warmth and lightness. But like all natural fibers, producing new cashmere requires resources.

Renewed cashmere offers another possibility: giving existing cashmere a second life.

Loro Piana's Re-Cashmere process begins with existing cashmere garments. They are carefully taken apart, with components such as labels and buttons removed, before the textiles are broken back down into individual fibers. These recovered fibers are then transformed into new yarn, blended with virgin cashmere to restore the softness, strength and resilience expected from a luxury cashmere garment.

The result is something we find particularly beautiful: A precious natural fiber doesn't have to be used only once. Instead, its life can continue.

Renewing an existing material helps reduce the need for entirely new raw materials while keeping valuable fibers in circulation. It is a thoughtful approach to luxury that doesn't ask us to sacrifice quality or beauty.

The Loro Piana legacy

For more than a century, Loro Piana has been synonymous with exceptional natural fibers and Italian textile craftsmanship.

The company traces its roots to the early 19th century, when the Loro Piana family began trading wool in northern Italy. Over generations, the family developed an extraordinary expertise in sourcing and working with some of the world's finest natural fibers, eventually becoming one of Italy's most respected luxury textile houses.

Cashmere became an important part of that story.

Loro Piana's reputation was built not simply on the word “cashmere,” but on an obsessive attention to fiber quality, softness, fineness and craftsmanship—from the sourcing of raw materials through the finished textile.
